Loch Ness, The Mysterious Monster
Loch Ness Monster , sometimes called Nessie ( Scottish Language : Niseag ), is an animal mysterious and unidentified, or group of animals, which are considered inhabits a loch in Scotland , Loch Ness , loch 's largest fresh water (by volume) in the United Kingdom . Nessie is usually categorized as a lake monster .
Along with Bigfoot and Yeti , Nessie is one of the mysteries of the most famous of kriptozoologi . Most scientists and other experts to find evidence supporting Nessie as insufficient and consider reports of sightings as hoaxes or misidentification. However, there are still many people who think these animals really exist, with the most popular theory consider it as a plesiosaurs that lived in the lake loch ness .
On May 31, 2007, Gordon Holmes videotaped claim to succeed the Loch Ness monster has been a puzzle because no one has succeeded in proving its existence. But most shocking is the image created by Dr. Robert Kenneth Wilson on April 19, 1934. These photos clearly show the figure of Nessie. There Nessie was seen protruding from the surface of the water by revealing the head and long neck. From the photo, grew a variety of allegations about what exactly this Nessie. However, there is also doubtful whether Nessie really exists.
Those who doubt the existence of Nessie, among others, Alastair Boyd and his friend David Martin. They both assume a false Wilson photo. Martin managed to find evidence that Wilson's photo is actually just a joke.
After investigation, the photo was made by Duke Wetherell and his son Ian. Nessie photographs that they were fake. The monster created by a stepson named Duke Spurling.
Photo fake Nessie was handed his friend the Duke, Chambers. Duke asked Chambers to persuade Dr. Wilson in order to sell it to the Daily Mail newspaper on behalf of Dr. Wilson. Duke Wetherell deliberately include a photograph of Nessie was to take revenge on the company's Daily Mail newspaper. The Daily Mail newspaper has written a story that makes Duke Wetherell shame.
In 1994, Martin succeeded in meeting Spurling. Probe and Martin Spurling's confession about the photograph. We found Martin, Spurling was aged 93 years and he felt guilty about lying to people.
Megalodon, The Mega Shark
Megalodon is a giant ancient species of shark are considered to be the first shark species that exist. Live about 20 to 1.2 million years ago, this shark is bigger than a cruise ship. His name itself means "big tooth". These animals, including sharks in the waters that seldom rise to the surface except to find prey. Although the issue of the spread of this shark has never been found alive, many scientists argue that the shark is still alive, and includes living fossils. Descendants near white shark is a shark. Dinosaurs became extinct because the other affected by the weather, while Megalodon live in a vast ocean, so it is not so affected by the weather, consequently there are still some who are still alive. Here is the video appearance of Megalodon, please watch:
There's also a news about it:
PANAMA (AP) - Panama is home to big-toothed creature called a Megalodon, a shark in the world with more weight than a great white shark.
A residential area of 10 million-year-old hybrid of the extinct Megalodon shark found in Panama, according to researchers from the University of Florida who reported their findings in the journal PLoS ONE.
Aka Big Tooth Megalodon shark and fish was estimated as the largest in the world. Able to grow about 67 feet long and heavier than a great white shark.
"The study provides evidence about the Megalodon's behavior in the fossil record," said lead researcher Catalina Pimiento, who had just completed a master's degree in zoology from the University of Florida and worked at the Museum of Natural History as an expert on vertebrate paleontology.
"Behavior can not difosilkan, but we were able to interpret the ancient protection strategy used by sharks, based on the fossil record."
Past data indicate that the region became an area of ancient sharks peranakkan is Paleocene Williamsburg Formation and Oligocene Chandler Bridge Formation in Southern California, which became the basis of the presence of young Megalodon tooth.
"Collections in advance about a rough analysis of the region as a study specimen, which also provides support for the presence of the nest area of ancient sharks," he said referring to the findings Pimiento Discovery News in September.
For the latest study, he and his team collected 400 fossil shark teeth between 2007 and 2009 from the shallow waters of Gatun Formation is connected with the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea during the Miocene Epoch in Panama.
Most of the 28 small-sized specimens Carcharocles Megalodon. But more analysis to determine the size is not related to the position of teeth in the jaws of the species at the end of the Miocene period.
Expert University of Florida's vertebrate paleontology graduate Dana Young Megalodon teeth Egret measure Gatun Formation of Panama on May 6, 2010. Ehret is the author of the study describes the first neotropis Megalodon Peranakan area, four teeth obtained from the Gatun Formation Megalodon abandoned by adults in Florida.
"Our study provides results that specimens representing most of the young Megalodon measuring between 2 to 10.5 meters in length," said Pimiento.
Michael Gottfried, professor and curator of vertebrate paleontology at the Museum of the University of Michigan to help review the article in PLoS ONE.
Bigfoot, Do You Believe This "Animal"?
Bigfoot, also known as sasquatch, is an ape-like cryptid that purportedly inhabits forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid. The term "sasquatch" is an anglicized derivative of the word "sésquac" which means "wild man" in a Salish Native American language.
Scientists discount the existence of bigfoot and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a living animal, in part because of the large numbers thought necessary to maintain a breeding population. A few scientists such as Jane Goodall, and Jeffrey Meldrum have expressed interest and belief in the creature, with Meldrum expressing the opinion that evidence collected of alleged Bigfoot encounters warrants further evaluation and testing. Bigfoot remains one of the more famous examples of a cryptid within cryptozoology, and an enduring legend.
Bigfoot is described in reports as a large hairy ape-like creature, ranging between 6–10 feet (2–3 m) tall, weighing in excess of 500 pounds (230 kg), and covered in dark brown or dark reddish hair. Alleged witnesses have described large eyes, a pronounced brow ridge, and a large, low-set forehead; the top of the head has been described as rounded and crested, similar to the sagittal crest of the male gorilla. Bigfoot is commonly reported to have a strong, unpleasant smell by those who claim to have encountered it.[9] The enormous footprints for which it is named have been as large as 24 inches (60 cm) long and 8 inches (20 cm) wide. While most casts have five toes—like all known apes—some casts of alleged bigfoot tracks have had numbers ranging from two to six.
Some have also contained claw marks, making it likely that a portion came from known animals such as bears, which have five toes and claws. Some proponents have also claimed that bigfoot is omnivorous and mainly nocturnal.
In 1924: Fred Beck claimed that he and four other miners were attacked one night in July 1924, by several "apemen" throwing rocks at their cabin in an area later called Ape Canyon, Washington. Beck said the miners shot and possibly killed at least one of the creatures, precipitating an attack on their cabin, during which the creatures bombarded the cabin with rocks and tried to break in. The supposed incident was widely reported at the time. Beck wrote a book about the alleged event in 1967, in which he argued that the creatures were mystical beings from another dimension, claiming that he had experienced psychic premonitions and visions his entire life of which the apemen were only one component. Speleologist William Halliday argued in 1983 that the story arose from an incident in which hikers from a nearby camp had thrown rocks into the canyon.[36] There are also local rumors that pranksters harassed the men and planted faked footprints.
[Distribution of reported Bigfoot sightings in North America.]
In 1941: Jeannie Chapman and her children said they had escaped their home when a 7.5 feet (2.3 m) tall Sasquatch approached their residence in Ruby Creek, British Columbia.
In 1958: Bulldozer operator Jerry Crew took to a newspaper office a cast of one of the enormous footprints he and other workers had seen at an isolated work site at Bluff Creek, California. The crew was overseen by Wilbur L. Wallace, brother of Raymond L. Wallace. After Ray Wallace's death, his children came forward with a pair of 16-inch (41 cm) wooden feet, which they said their father had used to fake the Bigfoot tracks in 1958. Wallace is poorly regarded by many Bigfoot proponents. John Napier wrote, "I do not feel impressed with Mr. Wallace's story" regarding having over 15,000 feet (4,600 m) of film showing Bigfoot.
In 1967: Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin reported that on October 20 they had captured a purported Sasquatch on film at Bluff Creek, California. This came to be known as the Patterson-Gimlin film. Many years later, Bob Heironimus, an acquaintance of Patterson's, said that he had worn an ape costume for the making of the film.
In 2007: On September 16, 2007, hunter Rick Jacobs captured an image of a supposed Sasquatch by using an automatically triggered camera attached to a tree, prompting a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Game Commission to say that it was likely an image of "a bear with a severe case of mange." The photo was taken near the town of Ridgway, Pennsylvania, in the Allegheny National Forest.
Do You Believe UFO?
Judging by the number of web pages devoted to UFO's, let alone magazines, associations, newsletter groups etc, it would appear that there are a great many people who believe in the existence of UFO's. By UFO's I am referring of course not to unidentified flying objects, of which there are many, but to "flying saucers"- spacecraft from another planet. So why is it that so many people believe in them, when the vast majority of us have never seen one? One of the reasons perhaps is because of the huge volume of reported sightings from around the world. With so much 'evidence' it is hard to ignore the possibility that we are being visited by 'flying saucers'.
So what actual proof do we have that UFO's exist? None whatsoever! So why do so many people believe that they have actually seen them, or that others have? Let's examine the 'evidence': Let's first though take into consideration that lots of people claimed to have met Elvis recently, have seen the Loch Ness monster, receive telepathic messages from Venus and know for a fact that the Moon landings were shot in a film studio. See Did we land on the Moon? People are funny. All unusual reports need to be viewed with a fair dollop of caution.
The wake-up call for the world that we were being visited, perhaps studied, by beings that were not of this earth began on July 8, 1947, when a disc-shaped UFO racing across New Mexico skies took a downward plunge and slammed into the desert near the city of Roswell. In spite of eyewitness accounts of a strange metal with unearthly symbols that wouldn't bend, and autopsies on alien bodies at a local funeral home, the U.S. government felt that the people would be better served not knowing the truth, and went into a disinformation campaign, saying the UFO was really a weather balloon. They would later come out with a top secret UFO project code named Blue Book.
Flying objects are mentioned 37 times in the Bible, to quote one: Ezekiel 1:16. "This was the appearance of the wheels. They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel." However, it was still the Roswell UFO incident that put the entire world on alert. UFO's were starting to be seen everywhere. In the UK , the UFO X-files have been opened to the public. Triangular shaped objects are being seen worldwide, and the U.S. is currently experiencing waves of them. These objects seem to prefer hovering over large cities. The next question, of course, is: what do they want? Hopefully they haven't found earthlings to be an excellent food source.
One of the earliest U.S. abductions was reported by Betty and Barney Hill. In September of 1961, they were driving home in New Hampshire when they noticed they were being followed by a UFO. They heard a strange noise, and woke up hours later, thirty-five miles farther south than they had been. Under the care of a Boston psychiatrist they were hypnotized. The stories they told of their abductions were amazingly similar. They were taken aboard a UFO where they were placed on tables. Aliens took hair samples, fingernail samples, and stuck long needles into their bodies. Their case drew national media attention. Once the story hit the front pages, many came forward with accounts of their own abductions. Some said they were in bed when the abduction occurred. Many of these accounts turned out to be outright lies, but many others proved to be unexplainable. However, there is little doubt any more that we are being visited by something from another world.
In North America there have been thousands of cattle mutilations. People have reported seeing black helicopters and UFO's in the area where mutilations have occurred. These are not the kind of mutilations that would be caused by another animal, or even a man. The animal's body has been drained completely of blood, yet there isn't a drop of blood on the ground around the carcass. Their organs have been surgically removed by what appears to be a laser beam. Usually the reproductive organs and the rectums of the animals are taken. Some of these animals have been marked with a fluorescent paint-like substance. Authorities think this is done so they can be identified in the dark. Linda Moulton Howe is the world's greatest authority on cattle mutilations and has written a book on the subject: "An Alien Harvest."
Crop circles appearing around the world may offer additional proof of an alien presence. There are but two kinds of crop circles:
1. The one made by frauds.
2. The ones made by an unknown force. The differences are vast. In real crop circles, common electrical instruments, such as cell phones and cameras, work poorly, or not at all, in spite of the fact that they work perfectly outside the circle. There are also abnormal radiation readings. Some think that this is caused by UFO propulsion. The best evidence, though, comes from genetic mutation. The crop stem cells carry this mutation. When they are replanted in other ground, they grow much faster and produce taller plants. They also produce much healthier plants. Try that with a man-made crop circle! Some crop circles have appeared on nights when it was pouring and the ground was nothing but mud. Many feel that crop circles are one way in which aliens are trying to send us messages. Many have seen UFO's in areas, at about the same time, that crop circles appeared.
UFO's of all shapes and sizes are appearing all over the world every day of the week. They have been photographed with high speed cameras, had movies made of them, showed up on radar screens that were both on the ground and aboard aircraft. There are thousands of people from all walks of life, airline pilots, police officers, teachers, doctors, scientists, nurses, etc. who have reported not only seeing UFO's, but of being abducted by them. Can all of these people be lying? Look up at the sky some star-splattered night. To think we're alone is arrogant, if we are, that's one heck of a waist of space.
There are some report from some witness around the world:
- In 1990, over 10,000 UFOs were reported:
4,000 in the United States
2,000 in South America
3,000 in the U.S.S.R.
1,000 in the rest of Asia
500 in Europe
- Data from Paul Ferrughel of the National Sighting Research Center indicates you are most likely to see a UFO between 9 and 10 PM during January.
- For the five year period of 1986-90, January, followed closely by October, was the peak month. June was by far the lull month. February, March, April, May and December were strong months.
- The 9 to 10 PM time slot was almost twice as active as the next period. As suspected, the hours from 7 PM to 2 AM were the more active time periods.
- The duration of the typical sighting was from 3 to 9 minutes. Sightings lasting from 10 to 27 minutes were next, and those from 1 to 2 minutes were next. Sightings of less than one minute far exceeded sightings longer than 30 minutes.
- Disk/round UFOs and "other" shapes were reported significantly more often. Deltoid shapes were next most popular followed by Ovals, Lights, Rectangular and Cylinders.
- 1988 and 1989 were peak years for reports, followed by 1990. 1986 had the least number of sightings during the five year period evaluated.
10 Mysteries In The World
Unexplained Mysteries of The World: #1 Crop Circles
The original crop circles were exactly that - circular patterns of flattened crops, often created in mysterious circumstances overnight. During the last 20 years, though, crop circles have evolved into complex geometric shapes, like the DNA double helix or the nautilus shell.
In 1966, an Australian sugar cane farmer said he saw a saucer-shaped spaceship rise up from a swamp before flying away. When he looked at the landing site, he found the reeds intricately woven in a clockwise direction on top of the water. There are many other anecdotal accounts of crop circles appearing in alien UFO literature, where sometimes the crops were burnt, otherwise flattened.
But in 1991, two men from Southampton, England, admitted they conceived the whole idea as a prank some 15 years earlier. They made their masterpiece using planks, rope, hats and wire - and could create a 40-foot circle in 15 minutes. The only reason they came clean was because one of the men, Bower, was running up considerable mileage on his car and had to convince his wife he wasn't having an affair. He continues to demonstrate the art today.
Unexplained Mysteries of The World #2 The Pyramids of Egypt
When it comes to unexplained mysteries, the pyramids of Giza in Egypt really take the biscuit. The largest pyramid of all, also known as the Great Pyramid of Cheops (or Khufu), was built around 5,000 years ago - but how?
The Pyramid of Cheops is the size of a 40-storey building and covers an area big enough to fit 10 football fields in it. More than 2 million stone blocks were used to make the pyramid, each weighing 2-5 tons and cut from a distant limestone quarry on the other side of the Nile. Experts reckon it took 400,000 men some 20 years to complete.
Engineering feats aside, there is also some weird paranormal phenomena going on at the Pyramid of Cheops. In the 1940s, a French hardware dealer spotted some mummified animals exactly one-third up the height of the pyramid. The remarkable thing was they showed no signs of decomposition. He deducted that the pyramid shape was responsible for preserving these creatures. Attempts to mummify dead organic matter under small cardboard pyramids have produced the same result - as if there is some kind of "energy" within the pyramid shape.
Later, a Czech radio engineer conducted a series of experiments in which he placed a brand new razor blade inside a 1:1,000 scale model of Cheops. He aligned his pyramid on a north-south axis exactly like the real thing. After getting 50 shaves from the razor, he was forced to conclude that it was only getting sharper from being inside the pyramid. It took him 10 years to obtain a patent for this remarkable device, which still has no scientific explanation today.
Unexplained Mysteries of The World #3 Bigfoot (aka Sasquatch)
He's big, he's hairy, and he's starred in his own TV show. Bigfoot is world-famous for spooking the bejesus out of hikers and hunters in North America. Scientists consider Sasquatch to be the result of folklore, misidentification and a whole lot of hoaxes. However, some people believe many of these humanoid creatures exist around the world, just like the Yeti of the Himalayas.
Bigfoot has been described as an ape-like creature, some 6-10 feet tall, weighing more than 500 pounds, and covered in dark brown or reddish hair. Witnesses give him large eyes, a heavy brow ridge and a crested head, much like a male gorilla. Footprints allegedly belonging to Bigfoot are 24 inches long.
Is Sasquatch really one of the great unexplained mysteries of the world? Somewhat disappointingly, the most famous footage of Bigfoot at Bluff Creek, California, was shot down by a man called Bob Heironimus. Years after the event, he claimed he wore an ape costume for the filming (photo, right).
Scientists also point out there is slim chance that a prehistoric, bipedal, apelike creature could exist, simply because the breeding population of such an animal would have to be so large that many more sightings would be reported.
Nevertheless, Bigfoot's cousin - the Yeti (aka the Abominable Snowman) - has a strong alleged presence in the Himalayan regions of Nepal and Tibet. Teams of scientists continue to seek out photo evidence, and many locals accept the reality of a breeding Yeti population as read.
Unexplained Mysteries of The World #4 UFOs/ Area 51
Unidentified Flying Objects can usually be explained away as airplanes, helicopters, weather balloons, comets, meteors and even the five planets which can be seen with the naked eye. In photographs they are usually deemed as dust on the camera lens or simply all-out hoaxes. But sometimes they fall into the category of true unexplained phenomena, as is the case with UFOs.
The first reported UFO sighting happened in Texas in 1878, when a local farmer reported seeing a large, dark, circular flying object flying "at wonderful speed". Another famous early sighting occurred in the UK in 1916, when a pilot reported seeing a row of lights that rose and disappeared into the sky.
After UFOs were popularized by science fiction in the 1950s, the number of sightings went through the roof. Theories to explain the paranormal phenomena range from the good old Extraterrestrial Hypothesis, where aliens are visiting us from another planet; to the Interdimensional Hypothesis, where alien UFOs are crossing the fabric of space-time from a parallel universe.
Meanwhile, UFO conspiracy theories center around Area 51 in Nevada, about 90 miles north of Las Vegas. The site houses a large air base that was selected in the 1950s for testing of a U-2 spy plane. It has since become America's testing ground for secret "black budget" aircraft before they go public.
The UFO stories began when, in 1989, Bob Lazar claimed on Las Vegas TV that he had worked on alien spacecraft just south of Area 51. The combination of government secrecy and unexplained phenomena happening in the sky above the desert has sparked UFO conspiracy theories ever since.
Unexplained Mysteries of The World #5 The Belmez Faces
In 1971, in the small Spanish village of Belmez, Maria Pereira claimed a human face spontaneously appeared on her cement kitchen floor. It wasn't long before she destroyed the floor and replaced it - and a new face promptly appeared.
More and more faces continued to appear on the floor of Maria Pereira's kitchen, attracting thousands of visitors every day. Some were male, some female, some large, and some small. In time, she discovered that the house, built around 1830, stood above a graveyard used by the Romans, Spanish Muslims and then Medieval Christians.
Did Maria Pereira paint the faces herself? If so, she never benefited financially from all the attention. She lived a simple life in that same house and eventually died in 2004, after which the house was put on the market. Besides ghostly apparitions, paranormal experts suggest a second theory - that the faces were manifested on the floor by telekinesis. Apparently, the expressions on their faces used to change with the mood of Maria Pereira.
However, skeptics point out that it is possible to analyze the molecular changes in the whitewash and prove that some level of fakery was involved. Many believe that the paintings were actually created by Maria's son, Diego Pereira.
Unexplained Mysteries of The World #6 The Out of Body Experience
An out of body experience is defined by your awareness being transferred beyond your physical body. When it happens during severe bodily trauma, it's often called a Near Death Experience (NDE). And when it's layered with esoteric interpretations of the afterlife, it's known as Astral Projection.
Dr Robert Monroe famously documented his Out of Body Experiences in his book, Journeys Out of the Body. He was at first incredulous when he began having OBEs against his will but soon traveled to places far removed from the material realities of life on Earth.
The main thing to appreciate about OBEs is that they often occur at night, when our minds slip from the logical waking world, to a world of fanciful dreams and impossibilities. If you were a spiritual person, you might say your Out of Body Experiences prove the existence of an afterlife. However, scientists find this evidence inadmissible; it is, after all, entirely subjective and shares many common elements with a Wake Induced Lucid Dream.
Unexplained Mysteries of The World #7 The Mayan Prophecy
According to many New Age believers, the Mayan Prophecy states that the world as we know it will change on December 21, 2012. This is not a new phenomena; as landmark dates draw near, end of the world theories creep out of the woodwork with astonishing popularity.
This particular theory has been around for more than 5,000 years. It began when the ancient Mayans plotted our position in the Milky Way and launched the Mayan calendar. However, the astrological prediction has since been embellished. Here's one popular spiritualist interpretation:
The Mayans believed that in the year AD 1999, mankind would have 13 years to recognize our own patterns of self destruction. Then, starting December 21, 2012, our entire lives would be tested and only those most in touch with their spiritual sides would survive. They claim a natural or man-made disaster will occur (although no-one can agree on the exact nature of the event) tearing apart the civilized world and taking us back to hunter-gatherer days.
It's another classic doomsday theory and I urge you to ignore it. While the world may come to an abrupt end any time, any day, without warning, there is very little you can do about it. One thing is for sure: our society, like all civilizations before us, is geared to postulate over end-of-the-world mysteries with gusto.
Unexplained Mysteries of The World #8 Stonehenge
Stonehenge is one of the greatest unexplained mysteries of the world. It's certainly no hoax (estimated to be more than 5,000 years old) and is probably the most important prehistoric monument in the whole of Britain.
When you visit Stonehenge, you'll find yourself driving for miles through rolling hills and countryside until, suddenly, you catch sight of this bizarre structure. There's an eerie feel to the area around Stonehenge, and for thousands of years it has soon silently, giving away few clues as to the meaning of its existence.
Excavations have revealed that Stonehenge was built in three parts. First, a series of holes were dug around 3,100 BC as part of a religious ceremony. Then, more than 1,000 years later, the most dramatic stage of building took place. Huge bluestones from mountains in Wales were lugged more than 240 miles to the Stonehenge site. Why would anyone do this in the age before the wheel? It wouldn't have been hard to find rocks closer nearby. The stones were set up to form an incomplete double circle, aligned perfectly with the midsummer sunrise.
The third stage in 2,000 BC saw the arrival of the more stones, transported by land from the Marlborough Downs some 25 miles away. Then, after a further 500 years had passed, someone felt the need to rearrange the massive Welsh bluestones into the familiar horseshoe and circle we see today.
One of the great unexplained phenomena, the meaning of Stonehenge is still not clear today. Was it a temple, a burial ground, an observatory, or an ancient calendar? Without a time machine to go back and ask, we may never know.
Unexplained Mysteries of The World #9 Loch Ness Monster
The Loch Ness Monster is a prehistoric creature thought to inhabit the Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. As lake monsters go, Scotland has tales of a fair few, with Nessie gaining the most popularity of all on the back of anecdotal evidence.
Nessie first hit the headlines in 1933 when a story was published in the Inverness Courier. The report quoted a Londoner who had visited a few weeks earlier as seeing: "a most extraordinary form of animal... the nearest approach to a dragon or pre-historic animal that I have ever seen in my life."
After that, more sightings were reported and this unexplained phenomena hit international headlines. That same year, one motorcyclist claimed to nearly hit Nessie late one night as it lumbered across the road and slid back into the loch. Soon, apparent photos of the Loch Ness Monster were published.
In 1960, an aeronautical engineer filmed a hump crossing the water in Loch Ness in a powerful wake unlike that of a boat. Years later, digital enhancement of the footage revealed what seemed to be the rear body, flippers, and two more humps of a plesiosaur-like body. The technician said: "Before I saw the film, I thought the Loch Ness Monster was a load of rubbish. Having done the enhancement, I'm not so sure."
There's no doubt that the story of Nessie has drawn huge tourist interest to the famed Loch Ness. And while some suggest it's a living plesiosaur, New Scientist points out that such a creature could never lift its head up out of the water like the photos and anecdotes suggest. What's more, the loch is only 10,000 years old and was frozen solid for about 20,000 years before that.
Unexplained Mysteries of The World: #10 Bermuda Triangle
The Bermuda Triangle is one of the great unexplained phenomena of the 20th century. It is held responsible for the disappearance of countless airplanes and boats in the ocean between Florida, San Juan, and Bermuda. This area is one of the most heavily sailed shipping lanes in the world, with vessels crossing through daily for ports in the Americas, Europe and the Caribbean Islands.
So why do people think there's weird stuff going on in the Bermuda Triangle? Because there are a huge number of disappearances that happened in very mysterious circumstances, falling beyond the possibilities of human error, equipment failure or natural disasters. Many theories attribute a paranormal explanation, like a suspension of the laws of physics.
The first unexplained phenomena occurred in the 1950s when the story of Flight 19 came to light, detailing a group of five US Navy bombers on a training mission. The flight leader was reported to have said: "We are entering white water, nothing seems right. We don't know where we are, the water is green, no white." It was also claimed that Navy officials said the planes "flew off to Mars", linking the Devil's Triangle with the supernatural.
Skeptics say that such incidents have been embellished, and the Bermuda Triangle is responsible for no more disappearances than any other area of ocean. However, fans of paranormal phenomena say many incidents remain unexplained to this day, despite considerable investigation.

Top 10 Dinosaurs
1. Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex)
T-Rex, yes we can’t forget the dinosaur king for obvious reasons. It was among the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist. It lived throughout what is now western North America, 7 to 65.5 million years ago. Like other tyrannosaurids, Tyrannosaurus was a bipedal carnivore with a massive skull balanced by a long, heavy tail. Relative to the large and powerful hindlimbs, Tyrannosaurus forelimbs were small, though unusually powerful for their size, and bore two clawed digits. Although other theropods (a dinosaur subclassification) rivaled or exceeded Tyrannosaurus rex in size, it was the largest known tyrannosaurid and one of the largest known land predators, measuring up to 42 ft in length, up to 13 ft tall at the hips, and up to 6.8 metric tons (7.5 short tons) in weight. By far the largest carnivore in its environment, Tyrannosaurus rex was an apex predator.
2. Velociraptor (Raptor)
Velociraptor (commonly shortened to ‘raptor’) is one of the dinosaur genera most familiar to the general public that existed approximately 75 to 71 million years ago. Velociraptor was a mid-sized dromaeosaurid, with adults measuring up to 6.8 ft long, 1.6 ft high at the hip, and weighing up to 15 kg. The skull, which grew up to 9.8 in long, was uniquely up-curved, concave on the upper surface and convex on the lower. The jaws were lined with 26–28 widely spaced teeth on each side, each more strongly serrated on the back edge than the front—possibly an adaptation that improved its ability to catch and hold fast-moving prey. It was a bipedal, feathered carnivore with a long, stiffened tail and an enlarged sickle-shaped claw on each hindfoot, which is thought to have been used to kill its prey. Velociraptor can be distinguished from other dromaeosaurids by its long and low skull, with an upturned snout.
3. Amphicoelias fragillimus (Largest Known Dinosaur)
A. fragillimus is the largest and heaviest dinosaur ever discovered. A. fragillimus may have been the longest known vertebrate at 40–60 meters (131–196 ft) in length, and may have had a mass of up to 122 metric tons. Whatever evolutionary pressure caused large size was present from the early origins of the group. Carpenter cited several studies of giant mammalian herbivores, such as elephants and rhinoceros, which showed that larger size in plant-eating animals leads to greater efficiency in digesting food. Since larger animals have longer digestive systems, food is kept in digestion for significantly longer periods of time, allowing large animals to survive on lower-quality food sources. This is especially true of animals with a large number of ‘fermentation chambers’ along the intestine which allow microbes to accumulate and ferment plant material, aiding digestion.
4. Compsognathus (Smallest Known Dinosaur)
The animal was the size of a turkey and could weigh as less as 0.26g and lived around 150 million years ago in what is now Europe. It is the smallest known dinosaur. Compsognathus is one of the few dinosaurs for which the diet is known with certainty: the remains of small, agile lizards were found preserved in the bellies of specimens. Although not recognized as such at the time of its discovery, Compsognathus is the first dinosaur known from a reasonably complete skeleton and the smallest and the closest supposed relative of the early bird Archaeopteryx. Thus, the genus is one of the few dinosaur genera to be well known outside of paleontological circles.
5. Archaeopteryx (Only Avian Dinosaur)
Archaeopteryx, from the late Jurassic Period, may be the earliest known theropod dinosaur which may have had the capability of powered flight. If Archaeopteryx is defined as an avian, then there are few non-avian avialans. Avialae is the only clade of dinosaurs containing their only living representatives, birds, and the most immediate extinct relatives of birds. Similar in size and shape to a European Magpie, Archaeopteryx could grow to about 1 metre in length. Despite its small size, broad wings, and inferred ability to fly or glide, Archaeopteryx has more in common with small theropod dinosaurs than it does with modern birds. In particular, it shares the following features with the deinonychosaurs (dromaeosaurs and troodontids): jaws with sharp teeth, three fingers with claws, a long bony tail, hyperextensible second toes (“killing claw”), feathers (which also suggest homeothermy), and various skeletal features. The features above make Archaeopteryx a clear candidate for a transitional fossil between dinosaurs and birds. Thus, Archaeopteryx also plays an important role not only in the study of the origin of birds but in the study of dinosaurs.
6. Stegosaurus (Spiky Dinosaur)
Due to its distinctive tail spikes and plates, Stegosaurus is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs. They lived some 150 to 145 million years ago, in an environment and time dominated by the giants. A large, heavily built, herbivorous quadruped, Stegosaurus had a distinctive and unusual posture, with a heavily rounded back, short forelimbs, head held low to the ground and a stiffened tail held high in the air. Its array of plates and spikes has been the subject of much speculation. The spikes were most likely used for defense, while the plates have also been proposed as a defensive mechanism, as well as having display and thermoregulatory (heat control) functions. Stegosaurus was the largest of all the stegosaurians but still roughly bus-sized. Averaging around 30 ft long and 14 fttall, the quadrupedal Stegosaurus is one of the most easily identifiable dinosaurs, due to the distinctive double row of kite-shaped plates rising vertically along its rounded back and the two pairs of long spikes extending horizontally near the end of its tail. Although a large animal, it was dwarfed by its contemporaries, the giant sauropods. Some form of armor appears to have been necessary, as it coexisted with large predatory dinosaurs.
7. Triceratops (Last Dinosaur before Mass Extinction)
It was one of the last dinosaur genera to appear before the great extinction. Bearing a large bony frill and three horns on its large four-legged body, and conjuring similarities with the modern rhinoceros, Triceratops is one of the most recognizable of all dinosaurs. Although it shared the landscape with and was preyed upon by the fearsome Tyrannosaurus, it is unclear whether the two did battle in the manner often depicted in museum displays and popular images. The function of their frills and three distinctive facial horns has long inspired debate. Although traditionally viewed as defensive weapons against predators, the latest theories claim that it is more probable that these features were used in courtship and dominance displays, much like the antlers and horns of modern reindeer, mountain goats, or rhinoceros beetles.
8. Ankylosaurus (The Armored Dinosaur)
Ankylosaurus is often considered the archetypal armored dinosaur. Its well-known features are – the heavily-armored body and massive bony tail club – but Ankylosaurus was the largest known member of the family. In comparison with modern land animals the adult Ankylosaurus was very large. Some scientists have estimated a length of 30 ft. The body shape was low-slung and quite wide. Ankylosaurus was quadrupedal, with the hind limbs longer than the forelimbs. Ankylosaurus was herbivorous, with small, leaf-shaped teeth suitable for cropping vegetation. These teeth were smaller, relative to the body size. Bones in the skull and other parts of the body were fused to increase their strength. The most obvious feature of Ankylosaurus is its armor, consisting of massive knobs and plates of bone, known as osteoderms or scutes, embedded in the skin. The plates were aligned in regular horizontal rows down the animal’s neck, back, and hips, with the many smaller nodules protecting the areas between the large plates. The famous tail club of Ankylosaurus was also composed of several large osteoderms, which were fused. It allowed great force to be transmitted to the end of the tail when it was swung. It seems to have been an active defensive weapon, capable of producing enough of a devastating impact to break the bones of an assailant.
9. Liopleurodon (Marine Dinosaur)
Liopleurodon is only on this list which is not scientifically classified as a dinosaur but in popular culture, it is referred to as so because of their co-existence with dinosaurs in the Jurassic era. Liopleurodon fossils have been found mainly in England and France, with one younger species known from Russia. Four strong paddle-like limbs suggest that Liopleurodon was a powerful swimmer. It provides very good acceleration – a desirable trait in an ambush predator by scanning the water with its nostrils to ascertain the source of certain smells. It’s size was around 34 ft long. In 1999, Liopleurodon was featured in an episode the BBC television series Walking with Dinosaurs. In the programme, Liopleurodon was depicted attacking and devouring the theropod dinosaur, before becoming beached during a typhoon and suffocating under its own weight. The depiction of Liopleurodon leaping onto the land in order to catch land-based prey is entirely speculative.
10. Sinosauropteryx (The Most Colorful Dinosaur)
There have been a number of dinosaurs with feathers but some were not even recognizable. Sinosauropteryx is the first genus of non-avian dinosaur found with the fossilized impressions of feathers, as well as the first non-avian dinosaur where coloration has been determined. It lived in China during the early Cretaceous period and was a close relative of Compsognathus (the smallest dinosaurs ever). The remarkably well-preserved fossils show that Sinosauropteryx was covered with a furry down of very simple feathers — though some contention arose with an alternative interpretation of the filamentous impression as collagen fiber remains. These filaments consisted of a simple two-branched structure, roughly similar to the secondarily primitive feathers of the modern kiwi. Sinosauropteryx is distinguished from other small dinosaurs by several features, including having a skull longer than its upper leg bone (femur) and very short, stout forelimbs, with the arms being only 30% the length of the legs.
T-Rex, yes we can’t forget the dinosaur king for obvious reasons. It was among the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist. It lived throughout what is now western North America, 7 to 65.5 million years ago.
